I currently reside in Clinton,
however I spent my childhood growing up in the Bethlehem,
Pennsylvania area. I went to The College of New Jersey where I
graduated with a degree in Education and Sociology. I am dually
certified in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. That means
I could teach from preschool through 5th grades! I am currently taking
graduate courses at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where I am
working to receive a Master's degree with specialization in
Instructional Technology. I feel my students ultimately benefit
as I bring new ideas and technology from the university setting into my
classroom.

I feel like Barley Sheaf has
been my home for a long time! I completed by student teaching
experience in First Grade with Mrs. Gillberg in the spring of 2004.
When I finished, I took over a permanent substitute position as a
teacher assistant to finish out the school year. The following
December, I joined the Barley Sheaf Staff as a 5th Grade maternity
replacement. The 2005-2006 school year, I moved down to First Grade
where I remained for two years. Deciding to 'loop' with
my first graders, last year I moved up to Second Grade with them,
where I have decided to remain for this school year. |

I come from a teaching family,
as my Mom is currently working in the Belvidere School District in
Warren County teaching Basic Skills. For year, when she was teaching
kindergarten. I spent summers and vacations during the school year in
her classroom. How I loved to help decorate the room and work with the
children! I feel so fortunate to have grown up with such a wonderful
role-model. While in college, I worked at her school and filled in many
positions. What great experiences--in some ways I feel like I have been
teaching for years!

There are so many things I enjoy
doing! I took dance lessons for almost fifteen years--that is a
favorite outlet and a movement/musical component I like to bring to my
students. In my free time, I find arts and crafts to be so much fun! I
love painting, knitting, and jewelry making. There is something about
being creative and letting your imagination be your guide--I try to
give my students the same experiences.

I am a HUGE Yankee fan! My favorite
player is Derek Jeter. Aside
from frequent trips to Yankee Stadium, I have even travel to Toronto to
watch
the Yankees play up there. That is such a wonderful city!

This
is Tommy J, my adorable cat! He is 2 years old and loves to get
attention. He thinks he's a dog, sleeping on his back, greeting people
at the door, and chewing my shoes (Yikes!). One day Tommy learned he
can't fly, as he fell out the window. Fortunately he wasn't hurt, but I
think he learned his lesson!

I absolutely LOVE chocolate
treats, anything purple, and as many people know--shoes! I admit that I
have amassed quite a collection! The little things in life are great
for putting a smile on our face!
